UGC Targeted TPg Programmes Fellowships

28 Fellowships for Local Students, HK$120,000 Each

Background

CUHK Master of Public Health (MPH) Programme has been selected by the University Grants Committee (UGC) to be one of the participating programme in the “Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme” (The Scheme). The main objective of the Scheme is to attract meritorious local students in priority areas (Health) conducive to the development of Hong Kong.

Fellowship Award

The Scheme will award 28 local students each with a cap of HK$120,000 (for the whole MPH programme, regardless of the actual study period) for the settlement of the tuition fee only. The Scheme shall be used towards the MPH tuition payment of HK$198,000, with the remaining HK$78,000 to be covered by the student.

Eligibility and Application Deadline

  • Local students who are admitted (accepted the offer with deposit paid) to the MPH programme (full/part-time mode) are eligible to apply.

  • The fellowships will be awarded to students on a merit basis. Assessment criteria includes but not limited to the following: academic achievements, professional qualifications, relevant working experience; and commitment and plan on how they can contribute to the priority areas of Hong Kong after completing the programme.

Application procedures and Result announcement

  • Candidates should submit online application through CUHK Graduate School Website and upload scanned copies of the required supporting documents by 15 April 2024.
  • Once admission offer is conferred, candidate who wish to apply for the Scheme should submit a separate application for the fellowship award. Application details will be sent upon request.
    Fellowship application deadline for 2024-25 Intake:  20 May 2024.

  • Result will be announced by July 2024.

 

Important Notes

  • To avoid double subsidy, students who receive other forms of government scholarships or sponsorship, including but not limited to the Continuing Education Fund (except the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme under the Student Finance Office) for pursuing the same programme will not be considered.
