UGC Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies

Up to 25 local students may each receive scholarships of up to $100,000

Background

CUHK Master of Public Health (MPH) Programme has been selected by the University Grants Committee (UGC) to be one of the participating programme in the “Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies” (The Scheme). The main objective of the Scheme is to attract meritorious local students in priority areas (healthy living and caring community) conducive to the development of Hong Kong.

Fellowship Award

The recipients of the award will receive a maximum of HK$100,000 to cover the tuition fees of the MPH programme. The award amount from the Scheme will be applied towards the MPH tuition payment of HK$226,800, with the remaining HK$126,800 to be covered by the student.

Eligibility

  • Local students who are admitted (accepted the offer with deposit paid) to the MPH programme (full/part-time mode) are eligible to apply.

  • The fellowships will be awarded to students on a merit basis. Assessment criteria includes but not limited to the following: academic achievements, professional qualifications, relevant working experience; and commitment and plan on how they can contribute to the priority areas of Hong Kong after completing the programme.

Application Procedures and Result Announcement

  • Complete the online application form (provided by MPH Programme Office) AND

  • Upload the documents listed below to the online application form

       - Personal statement with your signature (the template provided by MPH Programme Office)

       - A copy of the HKID card

The results will be announced in July 2026 by the Graduate School Office (GSO).

Important Notes

  • Those who have been awarded a scholarship under the Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme (TPgFS) in the past shall be ineligible for the FTSS scholarship.

  • The recipient(s) of the scholarship award must repay the total (awarded) amount in case of failure to complete the programme or meet the expected performance level.
